Cary Wood is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Grede and serves on its Board of Directors.
Cary rejoined Grede in 2019. He previously held leadership positions between 2004 – 2008, including as interim CEO of its predecessor company, Citation Corporation. Most recently, he has held a number of CEO roles at both public companies and private equity-backed businesses, most notably as the turnaround CEO of Sparton Corporation (NYSE: SPA) from 2008-2016 prior to its sale to Cerberus.
In addition, Cary has held a number of Board memberships including Broadwind (NASDAQ: BWEN), an infrastructure company serving wind power, oil, gas and mining; Westell (NASDAQ: WSTL), a telecom equipment company and formerly Vishay Precision Group (NASDAQ: VPG), an internationally recognized designer, manufacturer and marketer of resistive foil technology, sensors and sensor-based systems; and as Board Chairman at DuraVent., Inc., a private equity-sponsored building products company.
Cary began his career with General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM), followed by a move to United Technologies Automotive Corporation, where he served in a variety of general management, operations and engineering roles.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., a Master of Science from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich., and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University-Chicago in Chicago.
